Fresh 48 sessions are a gentle way to preserve this time, just as it is.


Captured within the first 48 hours after birth, these sessions focus on connection over perfection. The tiny details, the emotion, the way it all felt in those first moments together.


I offer Fresh 48 photography across Hamilton, Matamata, Te Awamutu & and the wider Waikato region, documenting your story in a calm, natural way.

What is a Fresh48 session?


A Fresh 48 session is a short, documentary-style photography session that takes place within the first 48 hours after your baby arrives.


There is no posing, no props, and no pressure. Instead, I quietly document the real moments as they unfold..... your baby in your arms, the first cuddles, your first family photo & the small details you’ll never want to forget.

Where sessions take place


Your session can take place wherever feels most comfortable for you:

  • Waikato Hospital
  • Birth centers such as River Ridge East Birth Centre, Waterford Birth Centre, Pohlen, Te Awamutu Birthing Centre
  • In your home after discharge

Every birth experience is different, and these sessions are designed to adapt to you.

If hospital access is limited eg NICU, your session can easily take place at home, without losing the feeling or meaning of these images.

What to expect


Fresh 48 sessions are calm, flexible, and entirely led by you and your baby. Sessions are typically around 30-40 minutes, with plenty of time for feeding, settling, and resting.  


There’s no need for a perfect space, a perfectly settled baby, or for you to feel “ready.” I’ll gently guide where needed, while allowing everything to unfold naturally.

A gentle approach


I understand how tender this time can be.  My approach is quiet and gentle, always prioritising your comfort and wellbeing. I work softly around you, you don’t need to perform for the camera, simply be with your baby and enjoy these precious first moments.

To telling your family’s entire story, I offer a special bundle option for clients who book Fresh48 photography. When you book a session with me, you will receive a $100 credit to use toward any of the following sessions:
